These African home decorative wooden figures of art, known as Colonial Figures from the Ivory Coast, are individually hand-carved from wood, representing an unusual mix of African and European cultures. There is no two men/woman alike, and they stand on their own. They come in a large variety of colors and they are all dressed in “colonial clothes.” The men either wear pith helmets (normally hand-carved by Christians) or Fez hats (mostly carved by Muslims.) These colonial figures are more striking in pairs or groups of 3 or more. There is a large range of sizes including life size (meaning the colonial figures have almost normal size figures, as far as, the width goes. In plain English, they’re not so skinny.
