African Shields & Wooden Masks
The decorative African wall art, featured here, are wooden shields. Each shield, was hand-carved from a solid pieces of Kola wood, by a Cameroonian artist. Once, the wooden shield has taken on its desired form, organic clay and pigments are applied. The latter, is an extention of the artists creative process; adding the desired colours in traditional motifs, patterns and shapes. These African shields, are ideal as wall art and are equally impressive mounted on a stand and placed on the floor or tables.
